Covid-19: Pandemic-related Anxiety and Depression

Covid-19

Coping With The Pandemic

A lot of us have experienced increases in anxiety, depression and personal loss during this Covid-19 Pandemic.

We have had to face increased amounts of disconnection and isolation.

Many have lost businesses, income, trade, livelihoods and jobs.

It's also worth remembering the changes in social dynamics and patterns of behaviour that we are still adjusting to - often, the streets are empty, or they are populated with distancing individuals wearing masks.

I have felt the irritation in myself with regard to the constant mask wearing, and I'm not alone.

There are unknown variables in all this, and that is part of the problem. The key thing to remember is that we do not have control over the outer world, although we may influence it, but we do have control over our inner world if we decide that.

I think this is the only way to weather the storm in terms of maintaining mental health.

Changes of environment can be enormously supportive, even if you are only walking round the block or up the road a piece.

In the Resources section, I have included a number of activities which might help to support you as well.
